Canon USA has announced the introduction of the PowerShot A570 IS and the PowerShot A560 digital cameras. The new 7.1MP PowerShot digital cameras features the new DIGIC III image processor, smooth 4x (35mm-140mm equivalent) zoom lens, and a bright 2.5-inch LCD screen.

The PowerShot A560 is a direct replacement for the popular PowerShot A540. The PowerShot A570 IS model adds Canon’s advanced Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and the ability to use lens accessories*.

*A 1.75x Tele-converter, a 0.7x Wide-converter or a 250D Close-up Lens – via the Conversion Lens Adapter (LA-DC52G).

The PowerShot A560 includes two standard AA alkaline batteries, a 16MB MMC memory card, a USB interface cable, an AV cable, a wrist strap, and Canon’s software suite for a selling price of $229.99 (US MSRP).

All Canon PowerShot cameras announced in 2007 are Certified for Windows Vista according to Microsoft standards, without any extra downloads or upgrades. Additionally, all current models are fully compatible with other operating systems including Windows XP and Mac OS X (Versions 10.2 – 10.4).
