Sony 7.2 MP Cyber-shots DSC-W55 and DSC-W35

The Sony Cybershot DSC-W55Sony Cyber-shot® DSC-W55 is a 7.2MP digicam with extremely slim ergonomics. The DSC-W55 is housed in an all black, silver, pink, or light blue metal body and sports a 2.4 inch LCD (115,000 pixels). High-resolution sensor, Blur Reduction Technology, and Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens combine to capture clear, high-detail images even in low light.

Capture movie clips with the latest MPEG VX (VGA, 8/16/30 fps, unlimited, with audio) format. Users can also expand the storage capacity of the DSC-W55 by using Memory Stick DUO or MS Pro DUO memory cards (56 MB internal memory included).

Sony Cybershot DSC-W35The Cyber-shot DSC-W35 is identical to the DSC-W55 with the exception of a 2.0″ LCD display with 85,000 pixels. Both cameras use a proprietary li-ion battery with approximately 380 shots per charge.

Both cameras will be available in February 2007. The DSC-W55 for $200 (US MSRP) and the DSC-W35 for $180 (US MSRP). Given the slight difference in price, we would opt for DSC-W55.
