GE-branded Cameras Available at Retailers in the USA
General Imaging has announced that GE-branded digital cameras introduced at PMA07 will be available U.S. stores around Memorial Day. Sears and Kmart have signed a contract to become the first retailers to carry the stylish new digital cameras sporting the famous GE monogram.
Both retailers will offer the A730, GE's entry-level camera, in the standard black body color. Under an exclusive agreement with General Imaging, Sears will offer the A830 in white and the ultra-compact G1 in navy, while Kmart will offer the A830 in blue.
The entry level A730 (MSRP: $129.99) has 7MP of resolution, a 3x zoom lens (f/2.8), and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. The A830 (MSRP: $149.99) is the next step up, offering 8MP and the same specs for the lens and screen size. The G1 (MSRP: $199.99) offers 7MP, a 3x zoom lens (f/3.5) and 2.5-inch LCD screen as well, but its most compelling feature is its ease of handling and small size (3.6 inches wide x 2½ inches high). All three cameras use a 1¼/2.5" CCD sensor.
All GE cameras include advanced features that include face detection, image stabilization, red-eye removal, 1600 ISO sensitivity, and panoramic stitching — all of which are embedded in the camera’s processor.
Spec sheets and user manuals can be found on the General Imaging website.
