The camera’s name evidently originates from the 7 additional multimedia functions - Camcorder, MP3 player, Portable Multimedia Player, Text viewer, Voice recorder, Portable disk, and the newly added World Tour Guide function which provides travel information covering 2,600 regions in 30 countries.

The i7’s Physical User Interface (PUI) has been designed to make capturing and enjoying special moments an effortless affair. With the 3.0" touch LCD screen in neutral (0 degrees) position, the user can access SRS quality music files through the integrated MP3 player. Rotated to 90 degrees the Portable Multimedia Player (PMP) function is accessible. And, turned a full 180 degrees, high quality still images and MPEG-4 SVGA (800X592)
quality moving pictures can be taken.

The Model i7 includes Samsung's Face Recognition AF and AE, which detects the subject's face, automatically adjusts auto focus and auto exposure to ensure better composition and image quality in portraits, and other shots featuring people. Further information can also be downloaded directly from the internet.

Samsung’s ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) function allows the user to take clear pictures at high sensitivity/shutter speed and low sensitivity at the same time without using the flash. ISO 1600 high-sensitivity capability prevents blur resulting from camera shake or movement of the subject.

The SRS Labs 3D audio technology SRS WOW HD built into the Samsung i7 enables you to enjoy dynamic 3D sound quality when you listen to music in the MP3 player mode or watch a movie in the PMP mode.

Right now, it’s uncertain whether or not this model will be sold in North America.
