One of several cameras Samsung introduced prior to the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the L73 features include a 7.2MP 1/2.5" CCD, 2.5" TFT LCD, slim aluminum body, high-resolution NV lens with optical 3x/digital 5x zoom, MPEG-4 SVGA quality video at 20fps, and continuous shooting functions.

Samsung’s ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) function allows the user take clear pictures at high sensitivity/shutter speed and low sensitivity at the same time without using the flash. ISO 1600 high-sensitivity capability prevents blur resulting from camera shake or movement of the subject.

The Wise Shot function enables the user to take two continuous pictures with ASR On and flash On and then choose the better of the two pictures. The L73 also has Face Recognition Technology that automatically adjusts AF (Auto Focus) and AE (Auto Exposure) for portrait pictures. A built-in microphone allows a 10-sec voice memo to be attached to any image (non-video).

The L73 also features Samsung’s Intelligent Face Recognition Technology which can detect the subject’s face and automatically adjusts auto focus and auto exposure to ensure the best possible image quality in portraits and other shots featuring people. The AF function instantaneously recognizes the faces of up to 9 subjects and accurately focuses on them all.

The L73 has 20MB of internal memory and can accept Secure Digital (SD) flash memory cards up to 4GB.

The Samsung L73, USB 2.0 cable, camera cradle, and CD-ROM containing Samsung’s Digimax Master software (compatible with Windows 98/2000/ME/XP and Macintosh OS X 9.2 through 10.4).
