Sony has announced the first Cyber-shot® W-Series camera to feature 12.1 effective megapixels and full HD output. Full HD quality (1080 line) still images can be viewed on any BRAVIA television or HD-ready display¹. Available in silver only, the DSC-W200 features a 2.5-inch LCD screen wrapped in a metal-alloy body with sophisticated etching and details. The 3x optical zoom is supplemented by 6x digital zoom, 6.2x HD smart zoom, and up to 18x smart zoom.

The camera features Double Anti-Blur technology combined with Super SteadyShot image stabilization (high sensitivity of ISO 3200) – meaning you can capture clear, un-blurred images even in low light conditions or without flash. The W200 also features Sony's Face Detection technology which enables the camera to recognize and track up to eight human faces in any scene, automatically optimizing focus, exposure, flash and other settings for sharp portraits and group shots under any conditions - even in low light or with moving subjects.

The VMC-MHC1 cable plugs directly into the W200 and allowing for full HD image playback. Other optional accessories include Wide and Tele conversion lenses VCL-DH0737 and VCL-DH2637, spare Lithium Ion rechargeable battery (NP-BG1), and a Marine Pack for use up to 40m under water (MPK-WB).
