Olympus has just announced the EVOLT E-510 digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera with Live View LCD well as in-body sensor-shift based Image Stabilization.

Live View LCD, offers a wide 176-degree viewing angle enabling images to be effortlessly taken from angles and positions that would be difficult or impossible with a traditional optical viewfinder (the only option on many competing digital SLR cameras). According to Olympus, “the Live View LCD is also perfect for capturing up-close macro shots of flowers and jewelry”.

The new Olympus Stylus 780 was just announced in time for PMA07. The Stylus 780, the newest member of the Stylus family of weatherproof cameras, adds a 5x zoom, CCD-shift stabilization, ISO 1600, and ‘Shadow Adjustment Technology’. As with the Stylus 770SW announced a few months ago, it features a bright 2.5″ Hypercrystal LCD so you can easily compose, view and share your images in low-light situations.

The Stylus 780 incorporates the new, more powerful TruePic III image processor developed for the demanding performance of professional digital SLR (single lens reflex) cameras. The new processor helps you capture high-quality images and eliminates graininess.

Additionally, new Shadow Adjustment Technology optimizes the exposure of scenes with shadowy or other dark areas - so the outcome closely resembles that which the human eye sees. BrightCapture Technology is used to increase light sensitivity for shooting and dramatically boosts contrasts on the 6.4cm HyperCrystal LCD achieving better results in low light situations. BrightCapture Technology is used in several scene modes (including Candle and Available Light) making it easier to frame and capture atmospheric shots with less need for the flash.
